Enrolled as an undergraduate student at the Chalon Campus of Mount St. Mary’s College.
Enrolled full time during the semester the application is submitted.
Considered in good standing with the College.
Available for finalist interviews on March 13, 2010, on the Chalon Campus.
Enrollment status and academic standing will be verified by the College.
In addition, the recipient of the Globetrotter Grant must agree to prepare a report of the trip that will be posted on this website as a guide and inspiration to future applicants. Pictures would be nice, too, but aren’t required.
Trip Proposal Requirements
The proposal – the essay part of the application – is limited to three (3) pages and should be written to convince the Board that you are the applicant who should receive the Globetrotter Grant for Mount St. Mary’s College. Ingenuity and creativity are encouraged, recommendations and transcripts are not.
Please include the following information in your proposal:
Your destination(s).
Why you want to make this trip.
Cost estimates and the funds you currently have available.
Proposed departure and return dates.
Application Schedule
January 25, 2010 – Applications open.
February 11, 2010, Midnight – Application deadline.
February 26, 2010 – Finalists notified by email, and names posted on Globetrotter Grant website.
March 13, 2009 – Finalist interviews on Chalon Campus; MSMC winner notified that afternoon.
The first 25 applications received by midnight February 11, 2010, (as recorded by the email time stamp) will be acknowledged and read by members of the Board, and will be eligible for the award.
The Board reserves the right to post winning proposals and trip reports on the Globetrotter Grant website.
The $1,500 grant will be awarded by Mount St. Mary’s College once the winner signs the Globetrotter Grant Trip Report Agreement.
