When I was young, we traveled a lot around the United States on summer trips with our mom (your benefactor).  So, with those trips, the states we lived in growing up, and my travels as an adult, I believe I’ve been to most of the 50 states.  Notable states that aren’t on my “been-to” list but that are on my “eventually-will-get-to” list are Hawaii and Alaska.

As a kid, I lived with my family in Belgium for a few years, and we traveled to a number of countries while there — England, France, Spain, Germany, Holland, and Switzerland.

As an adult, I’ve traveled to Australia, New Zealand, the Czech Republic, and Italy, and to France, Spain, and Holland again.  I also did a trip to Thailand, Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan with a tour company.  That’s the most exotic trip I’ve been on, and experiencing such different cultures was exhilarating!

I’ve lived in the Pacific Northwest since 1990, so I’ve been to Canada a number of times as well — primarily British Columbia, but Ontario, too.

In 2007, I traveled to Costa Rica, which is just gorgeous; we did beach time and then mountain time up around Arenal volcano.

Other places on my “eventually” list: Ireland, Patagonia (Chile/Argentina), Morocco, Kenya or Tanzania, and Antarctica.

2009 update: Got to cross off Alaska and Ireland this year! Definitely want to return to Alaska and get to the national parks (we did a cruise, and there wasn't time during stop-offs to get very far out of town). Ireland was wonderful — experienced countryside, small towns, and cities (Galway and Dublin). It's now on my return list, too.
